Default XC60 Fog Light

I have a 2010 XC60 The nearside rear fog light doe not illuminate. Is this turned off in the UK and therefore a software "switch on" or is it independently fused and its blown?

There is a thread on this somewhere but from memory the rear fog light including bulb is fitted but not wired.

Most people don't seem bothered as the rear led lights are brighter than the fog light

Only the offside fog light should be working in the UK. Apparently if you have both working it can cause some drivers to not notice the brake lights coming on when you step on the brake pedal and they just might run into the back of you.

Yes it is as a bit odd as on my current 2016 xc60 both work but on my previous 2009 xc60 only the offside one worked. I was advised as has been said earlier that only one worked due to possible confusion with brake lights so I didn't pursue it on my 2009.

From my own research, both fog lights are wired. Under normal use, only one comes on but if you brake really hard the second will illuminate and flash. I believe it is an EU thing.

It's obviously changed with MY and interpretation of regulations. Mine are both on when stationary.

That's actually a really good idea, they mention the confusion being the reason as to only one illuminates which I can get, to then have an intelligent light that switches on when you're stopped IMHO is a great solution.

So is that on when stopped or on when braking hard? Can this be switched on in VIDA?
