1st Service cost XC60 D4

I’m about to book in my year old XC60 D4 for its first service- I’ve been quoted between £275-£330 but negotiated down to £255 at my local Cambridge Volvo Havant Hampshire.

Is this reasonable? Anyone know of any cheaper dealers?

Seems steep for an oil and filter change but I guess that’s the price you pay for MD servicing. As far I’m aware they replace oil, air & pollen filter and the magic ‘software update’. Anyone know of any exciting updates?!

That sounds a fairly fair price at £255, you won't do any better than that at MD.

There is an update to the Sensus navigation software maps, it was just released about 6 days ago so they will no doubt do that for you when it is booked in.

Thank you, I did think £255 was OK considering it’s MD. Wonder what the sensus update brings?

Dealers will not do the routine Sensus update.
They will do other software upgrades.

The sensus map updates are not usually updated by the dealer during a service as it takes way too long; it is up to the owner to download the update from the volvocars.com website to a 32gb USB stick and then install it in the car. It usually takes 1.5 to 2 hrs with the car driving around to fully update the maps.

The oil is expensive I was quote over £200 just for an oil change..... glad I have first 3 services included

Glad I got the 5 year servicing. It's more expensive now, but at £500 at the time it was a no brainer.

Yes the oil is the biggest cost in the service and it is expensive for almost all SUV's.

Sorry I didn't realise the dealers would not do the map update - it is free to download from the Volvo UK website, it is 18gb in size, took me 45min to download it and another 1hour 30min to install in the car. Easy enough to do yourself.
