first foray into dice vida usage error code ecm-0420

hi all

i recently bought a late 2008 volvo s40 1.8 petrol and i had always intended on buying dice and getting up and running eventually but a check engine light expedited the need for it so i bought on from cheshired5, ty btw simon

so i went out to play with it and the only fault i can see with a check engine light is something to do with a three way catalytic converter

here is the specific title of the fault

ECM-0420 Three-way catalytic converter (TWC) efficiency, bank 1.Signal too low

it also says

"the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed while driving"

i didnt have time to drive the car tonight but will do on saturday

there is no other indication that anything is wrong except for the check engine light

just hoping to get a jump on this for now

anybody out there with any info or more importantly knowledge of this error that can hopefully put my mind at ease

ok some developments,

i tried the easiest solution first and put some catalytic converter cleaner in the tank and ran it almost dry and drovbe for about 50-60 miles yesterday

the light went out just before the fuel light came on friday evening

so i fuelled again on saturday morning and drove in the region of 60 miles yesterday and with no sign of the check engine light

it came back on today

does my car not like petrol?
