Thanks guys, once again youve answered my questions. I think the confusion is this 98/99 bit. The handbook with the car is model year 99, which funny enough shows a different info display to mine, now i know why.
What are the differences between 1 and 1.5 or is that a long answer. For you p1 owners, are there any suggestions for upgrades on p1 from p1.5 tweaks list.

A phase 1.5 car basically has the electrical system off the phase 2 cars, slightly different suspension to either phase 1 or 2 and the engine is a bit of a high bred with better internal piston cooling different head and cam layout and twin scroll turbo to list a few items.

Another simple way to tell if it's a phase 1.5 is by the switches for the heated seats and internal central locking. They will have a little dip, the size of your thumb, taken out of them, whereas the phase one have a rounded surface.

Phase 1 T4's all had clear glass double headlights as standard. These headlights then became an option available on the whole range with the Phase 1.5.

Phase 2 headlights are different altogether, being much bigger.
