Default cruise control

I have seen lots of articles on the pros and cons of cruise control. I have recently purchased a S40 diesel S and want to get it fitted.
I have got a lighting/cruise stalk i have purchased already but need to know what else i need to have on the shopping list.
In addition are the works difficult to do.
Sorry if this is repeating previous postings but look forward to some advice from those already done this.
Many thanks

it's a godsend

no idea how to get it fitted... but if you drive any distances, you should get it.

Hi there,

I'm also attempting this. Here's what I can figure out so far:

You'll need the cruise control unit, the stalk and a software upgrade at least.

Check your car for the pedal switches as well. You may need these.

There's a bulb that might be missing from the dails in the dash as a minor note.

Vadis though makes suggestion that there's a whole complex vacuum system depending on the engine and year of car. Or it could all be electronic.

That's the tricky part.

Software upgrade is potentially expensive.

Rufe can quote you all the necessary parts!

Many Thanks,

Daniel.

Thanks,

So potentially on the diesel cars it's a stalk, pedal switch and wiring loom.

No mention by the German guy of a software upgrade. But the Volvo accessories page does mention is separately.

I'm almost there then! I've got a set of pedal switches and the stalk installed. So it's the wiring loom next then the software!

Cheers,

Daniel.

Software upgrade is crucial!

Um den Tempomat jetzt nutzen zu können, muß nur noch die entsprechende Software beim Händler draufgespielt werden.
It cost me 160 € at my dealer.

I don't have anything light up on the dash on my P1 at all when using cruise. Just for your reference.
