Is it possible for any of the admin team to explain where all the posts by Chas X went? Have they been moved to another thread? It seems a pity to lose them as they are, be they good or bad, part of this thread after all!

Thanks.

rule 4 .
If we have to remove your post or thread, we will endeavour to contact the people involved to explain to them the reasons why. The forum support team will endeavour at all times to act in accordance with the forum rules - if you don't agree with the rules then please do not use the forum. If you don't understand the reasoning we will attempt to clarify the situation but all dialogue should be kept to email or PM and not the open forums..

Hold on a sec...those posts were removed because they were, basically, a load of irrelevant rubbish. The "imposter" is gone now...and, besides, all he did was achieve a 5-page thread-jack.

If you really think there is some great significance in them, I imagine they can come back (although probably in a different thread...?)...but let's get one thing clear - it was a clean-up, not a cover-up!

As for breaking the rules...the rules are there as guidelines on how to avoid getting into trouble. It's essentially impossible to write rules which will deal with every possible situation. We do our best to apply them in what we think is the most appropriate way for a given situation. I'm still trying to get my head around this...are you suggesting that the forum team have broken the rules, Mike? The general idea is that the rules are there to give guidance for the members, not a "instruction manual" for the mods...!

I'm really a bit confused by all this, to be honest!

cheers

James

To be fair James is correct, it was a load of old tosh, removing such rantings of an imbecile isn't what would be done on some forums and I personally think that is correct, this is the VOC and as it really makes no material difference to the thread I respect the decision that the Mods have taken. Let's not give any more attention to the unfortunate Chas (unless his alter ego would care to reveal and explain himself) than he deserves and move on!!! Just my opinion.

I agree with you Andy to an extent and i have asked James if the matter of Chas X can be relocated in another area such as the lounge.
The problem with targeting this thread for his attack on T5d5, a thread with 39k odd views (the 4th highest viewed of all time!) he has bought another separate issue to the table. The issue of ChasX will not go away and i feel very troubled that the ChasX business will devalue from this, a very important issue. ChasX has some questions to answer IMO.
The problem the team have is I think the " Inquisitor" within most viewers will want the ChasX case to rumble on (cos Corrie is not on) so rather that deface this thread, as it surely will do, if a ChasX thread is not opened, a most crutial and potentialy breakthrough case thread will be damaged forever.
I am also not comfortable with the permanent removal of the ChasX posts on a ethical basis and in the cause of transparency i think they have a place.
BUT CERTAINLY NOT ON THIS THREAD.....

Kind Regards.
