Default What suspension setting 1998 V70 TDI?

Am I right in thinking the TDI powered V70s came with the R suspension settings? I ask this as I am getting springs from such a car to perhaps go into my V70 T5 and would want the lowered factory chassis stance. Also, would anyone know the front axle weight for a manual V70 TDI? How much heavier is the VAG lump?

Thanks

In a word no they didn't come with R suspension in any way shape or form.
As for the weight no idea but's it's a cast iron lump and is bloody heavy.

TDI springs have a different weight rating so therefore will have your T5 sitting slightly higher if anything. Have you considered a lowering kit, specifically for the "R", from the likes of H&R or Eibach?

The TDI also has the larger front ARB (23mm?) found on the R and some T5's.

Yes being 4 bolt same as the T5.Think he was referring to shocks and more importantly springs though as wanting a lowered stance.

Whatever you do don’t stick some £250 eBay special coilovers on it!

No chance - thanks for the warning though and to the other contributors. I have two V70s - both with self-levelling rear suspension. One is a T5 with standard suspension, but the 2.5T has the factory sports chassis option. I have checked the chassis code on the VIN and the shocks, springs and ARB settings are all the same as a V70R. The latter car just looks and handles so much better. I really would like the same for the T5 - ideally with factory parts.
