Question 2 stroke

yes there are a lot of claims for the use of 2 stroke (oil) and when you read the benifits it makes you wonder why everone is not useing it.as far as i am concercened its an oil for use in 2 strokes ,dit you ever follow one of the old smokers/2 strokes up the road,i would not want to be putting that though a engine/dpf,and yes i know someone will say its burnt at higher tempture and cleans out a dpf, etc, but 2 stroke is not goeing in my tank .good luck ,and if you really want to try it its up to you .

I totally agree and I wouldnt use it myself, Ive just ready a few threads and wondered what peoples views were on the usage. I have found a additive on the net that claims with proven results that there additive is fantastic and does clean the engines etc.

Google "fuel additives" and "waste of money".

Which? tested them and came to that conclusion. Your money, your choice.

Hi i had heard this , but it works our expensive and not as good as using millers eco boost, i used it for 50,000 miles on both BMW and Saab oil burners and it does work, It ups the rating so its like using super fuel and also cleans injectors, My saab went from a smokey slug to a clean rocket after about 1000 miles
give it a go its good stuff

The reason people use two stroke oil hasn't got much to do with the consumption etc., but more so with longlivity!

Normal diesel has a very low sulphur part meaning that it doesn't have the lubrication capabilities of older oils. This can cause a lot of wear and parts which are under most stress - for example the high pressure diesel pump as well as the injectors.

The two stroke oil lubricates the moving parts better than diesel. At the same time, it burns away with the diesel (diesel -> oil -> oil burner -> the diesel engine is actually an oil engine and will burn any kind of oil!) and has no blue smoke attached to use.

It is clever to add say 100 ml into your diesel tank before you tank up (on empty tank). A lot of people do that here and the wear and tear are minimized to such a degree, that the costs even it all out - giving the desired reliablity
