Default Paint Finish Quality S90

when cleaning my S90 (again think that is 5 times in 2 weeks!) I have noticed that the quality of the paint finish is shocking, I have never seen such bad orange peel on a car before.
Anyone else have the same thing? If it was my own car I would have the dealer correct the paint but as its a lease car they don't seem that bothered.

Yes. Detailer who did my OptiCoat told me it’s the new normal. Some manufactures are worse than others and he has seen it on 100k+ cars but he didn’t think it was shocking.
My advice is go park in Tesco for a day, get a couple of door dings and orange peel will not bother you. My car has been swiped across the bumper and arch by an OAP in the car park two weeks after I picked it up. I decided not to fix those scratches and orange peel never bothered me since.
In seriousness a protection for the top coat will have a lot more impact long term than trying for paint perfection. You can tell cloudy top coat from far away and orange peel you need to be close and at correct angle.

My V60 is free of orange peel. The finish is fine, as were my previous Volvos. I know an employee from Rolls Royce complained about the finish on his Volvo, but he was the paint inspector at the RR factory. Comparing vintage champagne to supermarket wine, methinks.

I only use Maguiar’s products they are a little bit more expensive, but the finish is A1

Would include a pic of mine, but it needs a good wash!! Trees and birds are a pain.

I agree the car looks great from most angles and the metallic flake really pops in the sunlight but from a few angles that orange peal is bad

My S90 is six months old and has a good finish with no signs of orange peel. If your lease is private I would recommend you confirm your concerns in writing to cover yourself on return.

This is the first that I have read about Orange Peel, on this forum, but it jogged my memory to problems with an XC40:

Talking of paintwork problems... Some of you will remember my paintwork saga.

It's almost exactly 3 years since my first XC90 was delivered new with the rear o/s door a different colour/hue to the rest of the car.
