General: - moved up

hi all, just moved up to an D5 XC90(used) after a 740, an 850 & a phase 2 V70, thought I'd say hello.
Love being able to look down on lesser vehicles and everything is so familiar after my V70.
Can you guys recommend which oil to use and offer advice on tyres as mine came shod with newish cross over type goodyears and there is a bit of road noise.

Thought I'd say hi as I've just joined the ranks of XC90 owners too, got myself a T6 SE. And, I live just a couple of miles from you in Caerphilly.

The Volvo specified oil for D5 is Castrol longtec SLX 0w/30 A5 B5 specification

is this your first volvo?, if so welcome to the club,might pass you on the road someday but don,t tend to get over Caerphilly way much, always in Cardiff though.Out of interest what made you buy a petrol instead of a diesel? or are you going to Gas it? I've heard there is a good gas installation place up the valleys a bit.

Les,

Price was the primary concern.

I only do about 10k a year, and the cars I was looking at were about £3k more for the same sort of age/mileage/spec etc. for a D5, plus the T6 petrol is a bit quicker than the diesel.

Not thought much about gassing it yet, don't know much about LPG, costs, benifits etc, keep on meaning to trawl through the LPG pages here, just haven't bothered yet.

Yep, first Volvo, been a Saab guy for last 9 years.

Well happy with it so far.
