Setting up Keyless remote

Just bought a 1996 Volvo 850 but it did not come with any keyless remotes. My friend said it was set up for keyless so I bought a Volvo Keyless on e-bay. My question is how do I get the keyless to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

I dont' think this method will work on all systems but try turning the ignition on and off four time's (I think it's four) the red light on the top of the dash should come on. Now press the lock button and it should be programed. Hope this works.
