Hi.
You could take out the appropriate fuse to stop the alarm sounding, this may also stop the central locking from working though.

Question Hi

How do Traceymoora. When you say "the imobilizer came on" do you mean the alarm sounded, or do you mean something else? If the fob needs programing this should be quite simple.

Yes, the fob will need re-programming. Can't remember the proceedure, but your Volvo dealer will tell you. Meanwhile, pull fuse 6 out. This will also disable central locking.

Hi There,

Yes pulling fuse number six will get you going but you will have to put it back once you park up to allow the central locking to work again through using the key.
You will find the reprogramming sequence in your hand book or some where on this forum, it is just a matter of switching the ignition on and off several times and then pressing the remote button at a given point as mentioned earlier.
If you do have to buy a new fob be aware that there are two different part numbers one ends in a 1 and one ends in a 3, off the top of my head I dont know the rest of the part number, have a look on ebay as well.
