Default FWD 17” Alloys on 1996 960

Hi guys

I know that the 960 mk 2 has the same wheel offset as the FWD baby brothers meaning alloy upgrades are easier than with the 940 and spacer shenanigans.

Just wondering whether there’s any clearance issues running a 17” wheel with 225/45r17s in (7.5J I think) with rubbing the arch/fouling the strut?

Bagged a set of 17s to go on my 960 next month and want to check before committing!

Anyone with any info?

Cheers

Classicswede - what offset do those alloys have, 43?
I've got a set of tethys which are ET49 and they foul the strut with the 225/45s on. Will 5mm spacers be enough to clear the strut?

Cheers

Nah, 940s and other RWD cars have ET25 offset. To fit ET43 wheels you’ll need at least 25mm spacers. I used to have H&R ones on my 940 with 17” canistos ( from a C70).

Cheers
