Default V60 D2 R Design Timing Belt confusion

Hi

Let me introduce myself I have just signed up as I plan to buy a volvo very soon (apologies if this has been asked).

I have seen a 2012 V60 D2 R Design DRIve (start/stop) with 72000 miles on the clock, full service history although only 3 done by Volvo. I was trying to find when the timing belt and other expensive services are due and keep coming across conflicting information.

The garage tell me the timing belt is not due until 10 years or 150000 but the below for example suggests a timing belt change much earlier (although I think this was not confirmed).

http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...ht=timing+belt

Can anyone confirm the timing belt change and anything else to look out for or consider on the car.

many thanks
Chris

The interval was 126,000 but was reduced to 75,000 after a few failures,

Its basically peugeots DV6 engine

Mine went into Volvo for 72k service back in March 2016. No mention of any belts to be changed or was I advised when they were scheduled for a change.

Thanks for replies guys

I've now bought the car and the garage said they checked and Volvo was saying 150000 for timing belt.
The car is 2012 and has done 72k so wondering if although 150k is a way off whether age may come into play and be advisable to change timing belt now anyway ?

Cheers

Wink V60 D2 R Design Timing belt confusion

Hi, I wondered how you got on with your V60 as I am in a similar predicament to yourself at the time you wrote this post. I am seriously considering buying a 2012 V60 D2 R design with 75k miles on the clock. I am also considering it would be due a timing belt change as the salesman told me that it wouldn’t be due until it has done 150k. This has brought me to your post.

Please advise me on how you got on with your car and any other issues you have experienced, after buying your car in 2016. Thanks

I never changed the timing belt. I took it to 100k without any issues. To be honest I was then just about to get it done, when I decided to sell it.

My advice would be if you are going to keep the car for a while, get it done. The V60 was a fantastic car ! I miss my heated seats !
