Default Diesel 240s

There were a couple of lads in Derby in the late 80s/early 90s who produced a conversion kit consisting of a superbly cast bellhousing and other bits such as engine mountings, exhaust modification etc. It worked with the Peugeot 2.3 or 2.5 turbo but the sump was wrong and needed modifying unless you used the version from a Sierra or Granada which had the right shape and at the time these were quite readily available as spares/repair so you could get all the other bits you needed too.

I used a 2.3 which was a bit slow but was fine for motorway cruising; the 2.5 turbo was better. Insurance companies were a bit precious about it with being a home conversion so I told them I'd converted it back! After that car gave up the ghost I removed it and intended to do another, I never did get around to it. I sold the bits on ebay maybe 3 or 4 years ago.

Default 200 series td's

They exist.......
The first one and the only one I ever seen was in Ireland about 20 years ago.
It was green saloon and ive spoke to Barry "Lakes for Volvo's" and they dealt with Volvo's for about 50 yrs and he has only seen one in his time. He got to drive it and he said it was a very slow without the turbo.
The chances of finding a 200 D24 is very very remote.
