buzz from speedo/behind steering area...
hi, i have an intermittent buzz/vibration coming from the speedo/behind the steering wheel area. It kinda happens when the car is on a not soo smooth road or when im coasting.
its not loud, just irritating in an otherwise quiet cabin. has anyone had a similar problem in this area? |

Me Too!...
I think it's comming from the hard plastic bezel around the instrument panel, or the plastic on the steering wheel...

ive applied pressure to the plastic under wheel area, to the plastics around the speedo dials but it all seems fairly tight...
might ring my local dealer as its annoying me - just wondering if anyone else has located and fixed it as the dealer will of course book it in, take it out and say they couldnt hear it/find it. |

I had a buzzing sound which appeared to come from the instrument panel. It occurred after the car had been standing in the shade and eventually dissapeared after travelling 10 miles or so. It was also more dominant when steering to the right, braking or decelerating. It was an annoying continuous sound and not related to road conditions or engine speed. By chance I found that lightly pulling the centre boss (air bag cover)of the steering wheel towards me stopped the noise. Temporarily I inserted a small piece of foam rubber behind the boss. This has now been permanently fixed by the main dealer. They added some padding behind the steering wheel boss.
