Default Icing up of the windscreen washers..

I've had a minor problem with various cars over the years, with either the nozzles on the bonnet/scuttle icing up and/or the pipes that feed the nozzles (just underneath them), becoming frozen and stopping or reducing flow!
Now using Lidl screen wash has helped considerably, as it's the best (for not freezing) that I've found so far, but given that I treat my S60 as a bit of an R&D car, I think I have finally cured this problem.
Last autumn I raised the back end of the bonnet by 10mm, in an effort to alter the under bonnet (hot) air flow and bugger me it appears to have worked!
Now it doesn't look pretty and everyone and their dog says "your bonnet's open", but so far this winter I haven't had one single frozen nozzle issue

Would removing the rubber "seal" along the leading edge of the scuttle panel do the same job without raising the back of the bonet?

That could be an easier way of achieving the same result if people didn't want to go to the effort of raising the back of the bonet up (if it works!)

Have you noticed a decrease in underbonet temperatures too?

James

I tried removing the rubber seal on my old V70 (phase 1) and it was an improvement, but didn't cure the problem all together.
As for reducing under bonnet temperatures, I'm unsure as I don't have any means of measuring underbonnet tempratures? But I have had no additional issues as a result of raising the bonnet

I've have to second that about the Lidl screenwash.Never once have i had a problem with the nozzles freezing up and no matter what the temp has been it's alway's kept the screen clear.

It's good stuff
