Since I have WiFi in the car its easy to hook up and at £29 to buy it it was a no brainer.

Just done a 1 hour drive with the battery on the phone at 25% when I got in the car. Had music streaming all the way on CarPlay from Apple Music, battery now at 90% so I guess it passed the test. 😁

Thanks man! But if I understand correctly, the phone was on the charge pad? So charge pad is charging much faster than the bt connection is discharging the battery. I however would not be installing a wireless charger- I was just wandering how fast does battery drain while bt connected to CarPlay/Android Auto if the phone is not being charged at the same time..

No idea on the discharge without the charging pad but I can try it on the way home. I would certainly recommend the pad though, it works very well.

Just done 2 hours off the charger and the starting point was 90% and at the end with a mix of music and calls. So happy with the minimal drain.

I have both the wireless charger and the wireless car play adapter.

Charger - seems to work fine, it's a snug fit, and it has a rubber perimeter which means the phone doesn't move around. I have an Apple 11 Pro max with a battery case, and occasionally it doesn't charge right, but I believe it to be the battery case rather than the charger.

Wireless Car adapter - i got mine about 1 month ago. About every 5 trips, it doesn't connect. You get a blank screen where the Car Play should be. Admittedly, the producer has released a software update to the adapter, and I haven't got round to installing it, so perhaps it will sort it out. When it works, it's great - you drop the phone on to the charger, and within 30 seconds, car play is up and running, no noticeable lag.

I may post again after doing the software update.

Anyone know if you can still play music from a USB drive when the wireless airplay adapter is plugged in, but a Phone isn't connected?

When you plug the phone into USB, it disconnects whatever is in the other socket, so do you have to unplug the wireless adapter to get the USB drive back?

Really pleased with mine. Some minor limitations but nothing that would stop me using it. I think they are working on call info in the dash and using the centre button on the right steering wheel cluster to answer/end calls. Both these work in wired car play but not wireless at the moment but not a deal breaker for the other conveniences.
