New XC70 owner random judder
As title just brought a 2010 XC70 D5, drove brilliantly on the test drive no issues. I've just driven 80 miles home about 30 mile on A roads was fine, then about 40 miles on the motorway.
On the motorway the car start doing a weird judder like it was slightly hesitating just for a split second then would be fine. Then randomly a few mins later the same thing just a little judder, seem to just happen randomly every few minutes, some times was 5mins sometimes only a few. Got home to the engine cover off and had a quick look in the dark cant see anything untoward, not oil round injectors etc. So anyone have any ideas was serviced about 7k ago, and apart for this drove fine. Not too sure but I had a similar problem with a Mondeo andI changed the fuel filter and it cured my problem ,
I am sure someone will have a better theory or maybe have experienced this problem, It will be interesting to see any replies on this subject good luck |

Get some proper diagnostics on it like Vida Dice and see if there are any codes stored that could relate to the cause of it.
Otherwise it is just a guessing game.

Could be a misfire or slipping clutch or torque converter

Well disappointingly had the car to the indy volvo specialist that I use and they can ge the judder to happen so known exactly what I'm talking about, but cant find the source, no codes registered, checked all the parts all good etc cant find an issue with anything that could cause the judder :-(, advised to keep driving it and just see if it gets any worse, then take it back if it does :-(.
They suspect it's been doing it for a while and the previous owner had just got used to it. So kind of stuck now lols as I now know it's there it will drive me potty lols |
