I too got the personal email (and I think a mailer in the post too) offering the upgrade for £75

I think I'll leave it till next service where they perform the software upgrades. I'll first enquire if they do it as a matter of course.

If not then press home the Volvo club discount / loyalty / goodwill and get it FOC, if not heavily discounted.

I don't think you'll get it FOC but possibly worth a try! The Intellisafe upgrade is an optional software download which the Dealer buys-in as a 'part' from Volvo Gothenburg albeit online.

The £75 is a 'recommended retail price' which can be discounted by the dealer, presumably down to whatever they've paid for it or thereabouts with a profit element? As a VOC member and loyal customer to my Dealer I certainly didn't pay anything like the 'rrp' when I had mine done!

A rough breakdown of the cost is, software £19. Installation £44. VATman £12

Those who've got the Intellisafe update, are there any extra options in Sensus to turn this on/off? Stupid thing but trying to understand how'd I know if it is updated (without of course practically trying it out).

I have booked my XC90 for 29/11 for £75 - they said it is a promotion which I did argue but they wont discount. I might ask if they do emergency personnel discount by any chance - who knows I might get lucky

Mine is booked in for next Wednesday to have it done. They were aware of it and it is a 30-60 minute job. I am not going to haggle with them over £75.

Interesting they've said 30-60 mins, I was told 2 hours, minimum! Would you please post back on what changes you see, so those of us are aware what to look for :-)

Will do on anything that is obvious. We will see how long it does take as I have experienced ambitious estimates before.

Mine took about 20 minutes in total including ordering the software, installing it in the car OTA whilst it was on the showroom forecourt. I suspect they quote a longer time to justify the labour content for those paying the full rrp!
