I've looked at the link which leads to the manual and my only concern is mentioned below.

So all users that illegally park with hazard warning lights flashing please stop doing that or else we will all get numerous warnings from the system.

Well just don't do that, its not what they are for and in the words of the Fat Controller, causes chaos and confusion.

In addition it is ‘Must Not’ in the Highway Code and prohibited under regulation 27 of the Road and Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1989.

I 'think' I had my first connected safety warning today?

Two additional symbols appeared in my HUD next to the 30 mph road sign, a red triangle with the slippery road icon and another smaller triangle with what looked like a tree!

I can only assume it was a 'wet leaves on the road - risk of skidding' notification, what triggered it I have no idea, I certainly never noticed a Volvo in a ditch!

Just had my car serviced. Cant see or tell any difference. How can I tell if ive had the software updated.

On my V90, I swiped the Sensus Screen to the left and the below Reduced Guard, you will see the icon for Connected Safety.
I had to activate it by confirming certain conditions and the bar at the left on the icon should turn green.

On more recent Volvo’s it can also be done in the Settings menu.
