Default Airbag Light

hi,

My seatbelt was slightly torn so i decided to change it with a second hand one. Once i replaced it the airbag light on the dashboard stays on.

I plugged the old seatbelt back in, thinking that the new belt was faulty. But the airbag light remained on.

what could be the problem. could you guys help

cheers

It may be one of those components that you have to change with the battery disconnected....dunno though?

Belive the only way you can now clear the codes is for the dealer to clear them.

Also be wary of second hand belts, you may or may not know it's history.

Think you will have to visit the main dealer to reset the light. Worth trying disconnecting the battery first overnight to see if that resets it.
Best of luck.

Disconnecting the battery for 2 mins before you did the job would have saved you the bother of having to take it in to Volvo to have the light reset.
Disconnecting it now will have no effect. Learned this the hard way myself!
