Front springs MARKED XX
I have failed MOT on cracked front springs today. VIDA gives me a selection of different springs; the difference is in the 'marking'. Any idea what it is (For marking, see Vehicle details) and how to find out which one fits my car?

Good luck getting a part number from a main agent!
Best bet is call up a Volvo dealer affiliated to this Forum (like FRF Swansea) give them your reg and they will sell you the exact springs it left the factory with (there are a few variants depending on who placed the order for the car) you'll also benefit from a small discount. The Volvo springs aren't that expensive anyway.

Thank you for all the suggestions.
My Volvo dealer charged me £298 for 2 springs + all the nuts/bolts that should not have been reused. Seemed a lot of money (could have paid £150 for 2 springs from eBay, original Volvo part, claiming that would fit my car). At least saved some money on replacing them myself. |

Too late for you ukojesita but I'll post here for those who come after. There's a build plate on the inside of the rear drivers side B-pillar that details the suspension it left the factory with; IPD-USA website has a guide on how to decode it.
I ended up replacing all shocks & springs with Eibachs & Bilsteins for similar money - corners like it's on rails but these austerity Britain roads are shaking my fillings out. Glad you got it sorted |
