Default 70' recommend me premium wheel bearings

The local mechanic advised of a wheel bearing that could do with changing in the near future so I will do all 4 (car has around 235,000 miles and bearings are original).

So, what aftermarket brands of wheel bearing are of very high/best quality and have a perfect fit?

Hey mate,

Think FAG are Oem for ours but can’t go wrong with SKF either.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the comments, I had a quick look on Autodoc and the prices are all over the place but, expesive doesn't always mean best either.

Never heard of FAG but will try and research them over the next day or so before choosing some.

Fag are Ina or the Schaeffler brand excellent quality and German.
Another equally good is Skf who are Swedish
From the factory the 70's series had Fag on the front Axle and Skf on the rears

Don't forget there are 2 types[to my knowing]of front wheel bearing the ones with a centre bolt and the ones with a nut,and I seem to remember a different number of splines also[?] Don't know about the rear bearings as I've never had to replace one.

There's also a four stud version.

As mentioned, SKF and FAG should both be safe bets.

SKF are good. They did after all set up Volvo back in the 1920's so have an excellent pedigree.
