I would assume that the diagnostic system might not detect a fault due to the current draw being the same, provided of course that you do not mix and match LED's with incandescent in the same circuit. It certainly enhances the look of the car so I will be looking around at options once I establish vendors who sell quality products.
One point to note is that the interior lamps dim when switching off, do LED's just switch off? |

I've dealt with LEDHut.co.uk & LEDcentre.co.uk for domestic and caravan lighting, and both have been very helpful.
'Warm white' is like a halogen bulb in terms of colour, but 'Bright white' looks almost blue - I've not found these as easy to read (or as pleasant ) by compared to warm white. |

Thanks, It looks like LED lamps are fitted with resistors in order to "fool" the lamp failure diagnostic system (thanks Google). Prices vary from similar to incanescent to rather more expensive, i'm assuming that you get what you pay for!

It's usually the indicators which are affected by the CANBUS error (double flashing) when replacing incandescent bulbs with LED's.
It's easily cured by wiring a load resistor across the +ve and -ve feeds.

[QUOTE=tolga;1014360]I replaced the bulbs in the front too, here is the result;
Thanks for this post. Nice idea, simple (well, almost!) and effective. I'm going to do the same in mine (except perhaps the glove box and wing mirrors) and have a couple of questions please: - How did you manage to get the interior bulbs out once exposed? Did you use pliers / tweezers. I'm having real difficulty getting my fingers around the bulbs sufficient to pull them out. - You've obviously managed to take the cover off of the front interior lights now. See what you mean in terms of this being difficult as itlooks like the plastic cover is all in one piece. Any tips on how to prise this off without causing any collateral damage! Thanks

Thanks madman, I use a piece of paper to increase friction between my sweaty fingers and bulb. For the cover I just pushed the plastic tool inside and twisted, cover easily comes down without any damage. Now I'm ordering remaining bulbs, I'll post more pictures soon. |

IMHO the light emitted by the OEM bulbs is much more welcoming and warm than the harsh light from the LED bulbs for the interior lighting of the car but the LED looks good on the number plate.
