Had the T5's drive shafts replaced after similar symptoms - namely vibration under heavy load. Cost me £270 for the shafts (fitted) plus gearbox oil.

Two years later and they are still going fine with no more vibration... may be cheaper than you think.

Mines the wrong side off 200k and started vibrating last week with exactly the same symptoms you all describe. Kind of like driving over cats eyes, I noticed it when driving on the motorway and the motorway had a slight bend in it. Its gradually getting worse. Got it on the ramp at my mates garage today and noticed the normal CV joint knock from the drivers side when in the carpark.

Anyway on the ramp, play up and down in the shaft at the inner CV and the bearing has started shedding its grease. Time for a new shaft which I will try and fit on Wednesday night and will report back.
