Checked handle bit still no joy.. think i may be stuck now as ive taken trim off unbolted the catch but for the life of me i can get it out as it appears to be held in by two rods and i cant see how they come off, at the minute its just hanging

Is it supposed to spring back when a push the catch like in video or should it stay in the closed position?

Getting on a bit
|
With the catch fully open use a screw driver and push against the back of the latch moving arm so as too close it, half way closed you should hear a click (half shut) keep pushing and you should hear another click (fully closed) if it does not stay closed you may have broken the finger inside the unit, this what happened to mine, to get the rods out just use a small flat blade screw driver inbetween the rod and the latch casing and pries apart they are bent at 90 degrees and held in with a little steel clip hope this helps

This is sooooooo common, meeeeeeh. Spray something better than WD40 into the mechanism. Good luck, Kay (It's here on 2 of 10 volvo estate the same "problem": zero maintenance; -) ) |
