Tales from the T/R Zone
Thought it would be interesting to open a thread where you could share your intesting annecdotes about amusing or interesting things that happened while enjoying your Volvo.
For example did you get hassled by a car load of Chavs in a shopping car with a fart cannon and trolley alloys only to wipe the floor with then at the next lights. Or like me did you pull out onto a 3 lane road and have to get to the far lane but light the tyres up getting out? Oops sorry Occifer my foot slipped off the clutch...

Yeah, traction seems to be the big problem with these cars! Get it rolling then boot it seems to be the only answer - and if the road's wet, forget it!
My previous 'classic' shape V70 T5 was a good laugh. Managed to beat the odd supercharged Cooper S at the lights (once with a large armchair in the back). This was initially traded up from an Audi A6 auto (my only daliance with auto boxes in 24 years, still not keen). I had it tuned at Well Lane Turbo Centre who got 242 BHP out of it (no mods, just set up properly) with the same infamous armchair in the back as I recall! It ended life being stolen by scum who kicked my front door in for the keys: Now I have a Mk2 V70 T5 that has no badge on the tailgate... |
