Thumbs up OIl Return Pipe

Did mine today. It took half an hour. The most worrying thing was if the bolts were seized but thankfully, they all came off fine without too much torque. Relatively easy job if you get get the car on a ramp. Saved about £60-£90 labour there. Thanks for the link above.

Default Snap...same problem for my T5

I've yet to look under my car, but I have enough oil leaking to cause a thin oil film on the back window.

First, looking in the engine bay, I have noticed a film of oil around the area of the dip stick on the bonnet hood. Also, across the block there is a stream of oil, slightly cooked, from the dipstick to the rear left of the block. Is this because I have a broken oil return line from the block to the turbo inlet (the black pipe running from the front top to the junction just before the air goes into the turbo - there is some foam insulation covering it most of the way)?

Secondly, I haven't got under the car yet, but I am hoping (obviously!) that it is the turbo oil return line that is leaking. However, if it is the crankcase seal, how does the forte sealeant work? Is it effective, or a stop gap solution? Will I need to plan to lift the engine out to replace the seal?

Your help and advice, as ever, is appreciated.

Willing to be corrected, but this sounds like it might be the crankcase breather blockage. See other threads but you are obviously getting over pressure in the sump which is forcing oil up the dipstick. Get it sorted before it blows your main crankcase oil seal.
