Yes, my old X5 hard a sharper change, but the whole character of the car was a bit sportier, a bit sharper, whereas the 90 is more if a languid cruiser. On an off topic note, the R Design classic does have a certain mk1 X5 feel to it.

I contacted a local specialist re this and he told me it was a bad idea and wouldn't need doing unless the gearbox was giving me issues.
I might be old school but as far as I was aware it was always a good idea and helped with longevity to do all oils, filters etc as often as possible.
can anyone give a definitive answer or is it a matter of opinion
im a new to owning a Volvo so apparently I have been told I have to tune all radio stations to radio 4 for some reason
As suggested, maybe time for a new specialist. I'd echo that the guy is worried that you want a change due to issues. When that's the case, those issues can get worse post-change. The specialist then gets told "Well it worked OK till YOU touched it".
The only filled-for-life fluid is blood and technically it gets changed every 3 months!
