Damage repair
Hi,
I'm a bit worried about some rusty seams on the radiator support on my newly bought 2014 V70. Photos below, is it meant to have those welds, and do they normally go rusty in three years? Thanks

Hi, when I was doing my clutch and flywheel I noticed this on my 07 and thought it was normal.

I noticed this recently on my 2012 V70 aswell although myn is in more places and was quite flakey, also inside the member. I scraped some off and applied Wurth wax underbody spray, whether that's the correct thing to do or not, I don't know. Fortunately that beam isn't for crash protection, it's part of the engine subframe I believe.

Rusty subframes is pretty normal on P3 Volvo's, My previousP2 on an 04 plate still had shiny subframes and looked like a nearly new car underneath. Infact all paintwork was superior to the P3 . Mr Ford again and saving pennies are to blame. Get some waxoil ,wire brush off any flaky paint or rust and spray liberally . it won't cure it but should certainly slow the rust down.
