Drivers Information Module (DIM) replacement
Whos Drivers Information Module (DIM) has needed replacement or is showing the signs of needing replacement?
Trying to see how big this issue is! If you post can you indicate the age and mileage of your car? Thanks Last edited by Andy; Feb 14th, 2008 at 09:57. |

Touch wood!!!!! I have not needed one yet! But neighbour who has a V70 52 plate has had it replaced by main dealer at a cost of over £1,000.

No, its not worth it, but ive been looking for week for an second hand one, if the numbers dont match it wont work. Salvo sent me one but wasnt compatible. Sent it to a company in poole, they said there was nothing wrong, pluged it back in and its even worse now

About not been able to use secondhand dims , i got one from CONTINENTAL CAR BREAKERS LTD in doncaster today for £60 and he reset all the codes for me for £10 and it works perfectly the only downfall was that you have to get the millage set at a cost of £50 at a specialist but i was lucky as the milage was only a few thousand miles higher than my original one so i thought sod it . check out www.continentalcarbreakers.co.uk they also give you 90 days warranty on all parts.or call them on 01302 840 306. They also sell a volvo code re setter which tells you all the codes and lets you reset them its only £150...

A decent TV repair man will have the needed skills. The worst it is is a crack on the board or on a track - these can be repaired too. Last edited by Dkimber; Feb 18th, 2008 at 11:01. |
