Hi Mike,
It might be easiest to buy a new outer CV joint which already has a ring. See http://stores.ebay.co.uk/jrcvjointsdriveshafts/ Very cheap. I think they do the CVs for 10vs, and maybe other but not T5s. I havent done that job myself yet, but I have a new CV on hand for when I need it. Steve

Thanks Steve. I ordered the abs ring from them last week. I am having second thoughts about what to do now though, think I'll start a new thread to gauge opinion as I've hijacked this thread enough.

sorry for long wait on reply. my abs ring was £5 of ebay, took a couple of hours to fit, ( first time ) i just heated mine up a bit like you had to do with old starter ring gears and went striaght on. yes it felt like worn pads on the pedal, and thanks for advice on pads but think its me not use to the volvo.

Thanks gnc. I was going to try changing the ring at the weekend but I decide to replace the whole assembly instead. Dropped it off at the garage this morning, told them if there's not much in it price wise just put a new drive shaft on rather than messing about with just the cv joint. I normally wouldn't do that but as I was driving with a split cv boot for a few months and it's a daily drive car I thought I would just get it done. Already spent about £800 on it in the last 3 weeks so what's another £200! :-(
