Default I need some help with the rear bar

Hi to everyone,

- I'm trying to tighten the handling of the old girl, I have the OCC Chasis (17mm front, 13mm rear), so in my upgrades list I'm looking to upgrade both bars, the front one (19mm) is the easiest one, the part number is 30620662 and done, new links, new bushings and thats that. But for the rear bar and in VIDA I have three options but I cannot correlate the part number and the diameter of the bar.

- VIDA shows three part numbers 30871224, 30812286, 30874896 (if anybody has more, I'm glad to hear)

- I have also the code that should be on the identification plate (X Y Z) and the color. I did a little of google and came across this results, but maybe someone has more correct information.
  • Orange - MARKED X - 15mm
  • Brown - MARKED Y - 16mm
  • White - MARKED Z - 13mm

- I've keep looking and find that, in the identification plate you should read something like this, but I don't know if the information is right. (at least I got the Z mark right)
  • X = 16 mm (Dynamic, Sport)
  • Y = 15 mm (Dynamic NIVOMAT)
  • Z = 13 mm (Comfort, OCC)

- My issue is that depending on what site I access I get diferent information of Part Number and Diameter. I've asked on the "What did you do to your x40 today???" thread but I had no information I'm asking in this post, because I would like to buy the rear bar, and if possible I want to buy the 16mm one.

Any ideas?

Why not just ask someone breaking an X40 if it has a 16mm rear bar, get them to measure it with some caliper gauges and if it is then buy it from them?

I've had and sold loads of 16mm rear bars off X40's in the past. They aren't too hard to find from someone breaking a Sport model car.

Interestingly, I have a V40 Sport and it has a 13mm rear anti-roll bar. It looks original.

Bog standard, Sport. Sport Lux designation refers to the trim level not the mechanical specification.

All the cars were built to the individual customers spec and in the case of my own car the original customer specified Sport Lux with a few more bells and whistles with comfort suspension. So my car has a 13mm rear bar. Sport or Sport Lux doesn't make it go any faster or corner better.

I have this sale thread for months and so far no luck https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=276422 and also I ask in the ones that are for sale, and also no luck.

Since I can find the three sizes online, I just want to know if anyone can confirm the part number with the diameter

I keep looking for the right part number, I was looking in swedishautoparts.com http://www.swedishautoparts.com/V40/...r.html#linkbar

I contacted them hopeing that the one without part number should be the one, but no, apparently "Part #30874896 is 13mm, I am not able to find a 16mm but part #30812286 is 15mm"

So I keep looking for an answer

In the end I gave up with trying to correlate the P/N to the rear bar diameter. I make some offers on ebay and bought a new Ultra Racing 19mm Rear Bar.

So I give this topic closed
