Boy oh boy did you guys get off topic.
OP wants to sell his Jewel headlights, Jewels, not Chinese lights which are known to provide less lighting than the Jewels. Whether you deem them too expensive is your personal opinion and we're all entitled to one but it's unfair to damage somebodies listing. User 1 showed interest but thinks they're too expensive which is fine but then goes to undermine him claiming he got a brand new set for £165, not only did they turn out to not be Jewels but are LHD as the RHDs are more expensive. Even then the "£165" claim turned out to actually be £215. RHD Projectors are actually £255 so good luck passing your next MOT with some beam reflection stickers. User 2 and User 3 blindly jump on the bandwagon for no clear reason. Now User 1 is on the offensive and I can't comprehend why. Are we not allowed to advertise anything on this forum without the false scrutiny of self-entitled uninformed know-it-alls. As for post 14 and 16, I don't know what they have to do with this thread if anything further undermine OP. Since we all seem to know what we're talking about @ASt85 you would know the issue with Jewels is not the glass since they can be sourced for around £70 but the reflectors being burnt out. As for the price of re-chroming, it's around £40-£80 per headlight so let's take the middle ground of £60 to do some quick and fun maths. Glass: £70 Re-chroming: £120 Pair of worn out Jewels from eBay: £100 Total: £290 A pair of really good condition Jewels with minimum pitting and non-burnt-out reflectors for £150, that sounds about right. Sorry you had to put up with this OP and I'm not trying to start some drama but honestly, some people need to grow up.

As the author of post # 14, above, to which 'c70r' refers, I accept that it was off topic, but don't most topics drift to a greater or lesser extent? To me, that is what makes this forum interesting - it would be very boring if it did not, I feel. I do not understand what 'c70r' objects to about 'Karwan's post # 16, though.
However, if my post did offend any members of this forum by reason of it's digression I unreservedly apologise. I also apologise to the OP if by posting I have in any way diminished the impact of his post - that was not my intention. On the contrary, and as evidence of my good faith, if I were convinced that a) the lights offered would fit my car, b) would significantly increase light output, and c) were not in any way illegal and would thus pass the MOT test, I would have been prepared to offer perhaps £80 for the pair. That is twice what I would expect to pay for good secondhand units. I most certainly could not justify spending £150 or £200 in this way on my own car. The remainder of my post was offered in a spirit of mutual helpfulness to other forum members by illustrating that there are alternative sources for parts available at less outlay when cost is a consideration and appearance less so. If that was out of place I am happy to apologise for any offence so caused. Regards, John.

to all concerned - please note there was no intention to behave as a "know it all" - - there is a fundamental difference between the informative post that I left for the OP withdrawing from the exchange and the response the OP left reply which elicited those further replies. So sorry to have caused you offense c70r.
