Default Amazon - Steering wheel change

Thinking of changing the standard 17" steering wheel on my late Amazon for a 15" Motolita wheel. I know that this will make the steering a bit heavier at parking speeds, but will it otherwise lead to a better driving experience?
Thanks

Just a case of fashion isn't it?

What do you wanna look at when you're not looking at the road ahead!

Got a 15 inch leather Motolita wheel on my Amazon (dished to give a bit of clearance for the high beam flash).

Steering is nice and light at speed, and heavy-ish when manoeuvring... not too bad though. My missus is more than happy with the steering weight when parking if that helps!

I run 195/65/15 tyres all round inflated to about 32 psi.

I prefer the look of the smaller wheel, and as I've got big hands I found the standard wheel to thin to grip comfortably.

Thanks for your helpful comments Faust. I've almost finished the restoration of my former rally car but the original steering wheel is not in the best of shape and lets the interior down. The 15 inch dished leather rimmed Motolita is a nice looking wheel and really suits the car with the narrow slot design......

No worries - always happy to advise.

Went for the round holes myself... as you have a strip speedo, slots on a steering wheel in an Amazon look a bit odd in my opinion. Round holes break up the 'strip' motive on the interior.

All down to personal taste though - be a boring world if we all liked the same things.

Forgot to mention: I've also got the Motolita 2 inch spacer fitted (between the boss adaptor and wheel) - positions the wheel a bit better for my personal preference.

Got my wheel used off ebay for 60 quid. If I was buying new I'd go for the perforated leather option as I think it looks pretty cool. Boss was direct from ML: think it was about 70 quid. Code was F14H.
