Default its my first time...

Hi all, long time Vw driver here about to take the plunge and go Scandinavian.

I have placed an order for a brand new v40 r design d3 In "passion red" and with any luck it should be here within a week or so. Its packless as I couldn't justify the items you got in the packs (nice as they are) with the extra wedge on top of the r design version.

As this is my first foray into the joys of the diesel engine and the world of Volvo, are there any hints or tips regarding the car or the engine?

Thanks!

Welcome Jamie, can't offer any advice on diesel as I have a sweet smelling petrol burner, those grimy ,stinky oil burning fiends will pop up soon enough, enjoy your new car, Passion red sounds great post some pics when you get it. We like shiny things on here.

For the past 18 years I have been a petrol only guy, but the test drive of the d3 turned me to the dark, oily, greasy and black smoking under heavy acceleration side......it completely changed my perception on diesels and I hope to cream in the savings on the motorway!
