Default from one end of the scale to the other

So left to my own devises on the bank holiday weekend whilst the good lady went to work I happened across my local Volvo dealership,

Cutting to the chase I ended up swapping my 2011 S60 D5 geartronic for a V40 D2 R design.

Now it is fair to say I was very concerned that the D2 would be gutless especia
ly reading some reports and driving a 215bhp D5, however I was surprised at how good the car pulls through the gears, true it can't match the D5 for 0-60 or top speed but then again the S60 cannot beat the V40 for quality.

Whilst not as well equipped as the S60 it has the advantage of zero road tax, better fuel consumption and cheaper insurance.

Initial impressions are the V40 is a better handling car, but the jury is out on whether it is as comfy as the s60, time will tell.

The S60 was a great car but in my opinion starting to look a bit dated, the V40 is certainly ahead in the looks stake.

still not sure if this was a good move, but its early days yet.

Smile

So couple of weeks into owning the v40 some thoughts.

Downsides

1. Without stating the obvious slower 0-60
2. Not as well equipped

Upside

1. Zero road tax
2. Bettter handling
3. Great looking car
4. Sportier and more modern
5. Just done a 500 round trip and computer shows 60mpg

So looks like a good decision to change.

Any one else out there who has changed their s60 for a
V40 interested to hear their view
