I have used it to good effect on many occasions, often leaving a smoke-screen worthy of James Bond in my wake!

I suspect adding ATF to the engine oil is the modern version of the same idea as it helps free sticking piston rings, revives oil seals and helps clean the engine internally.

A young neighbour of mine used to have a 2-stroke motorbike and he never seemed to get the mix right as he was always leaving a JB-style smoke screen behind him!
I've only left a smoke scren behind me once, when the turbo let go on an MG Montego about half an hour after draining out the molasses from the sump and replacing it with engine oil.
