Default Should my doors auto relock if the door isn't opened?

Can anybody else confirm that if they unlock the car with the keyfob, don't attempt to open any door, that after a certain time (I assume 30 seconds) the car automatically relocks and arms itself?

The manual seems to state so, yet mine doesn't and I can't find any option in the menu system where this may be deactivated.

I've left it for a good hour and it's still sat there unlocked.

Any ideas?

My MY16 XC60 does relock if doors aren't opened for some time after unlocking.

Well at least that confirms it. It's going in for service, MOT and cambelt change soon, so I'll get them to check and fix it, unless somebody can tell me the magic fix in the meantime

I remember reading about this a few years ago where someone mentioned that this feature was part of the Thatcham categories. It normallly just affects the drivers door, so you could open the other three doors and the vehicle should still lock itself after 10 minutes.

There may be certain factors that inhibit this function on modern vehicles, one of which is the presence of the car key. On keyless entry vehicles if the vehicle detects the key nearby, it may not lock incase it locks the key inside the vehicle. Low batteries in the fob or even the position of the key within the vehicle could mean that the keyless function will not work, despite the key being inside the vehicle. If you have kept the key nearby whilst waiting for the doors to lock, I would try taking the key out of range to see if the doors lock by themselves again. If they don't then there may be a problem with the system operation.

Unfortunately (I really with it had it, same as On-Call), I don't have the keyless entry system, I have to put the key in the hole to turning ignition on/start the car (but can remove it once started, it will just warn).

I wonder if the system is doing something daft again whereby I need to untick all the boxes, then re-tick to activate the feature again. Had this on a couple of options.
