Default Stromberg/fuel problem

Hello,

I'd very much appreciate some input on a problem I have with my 164. Firstly to say the carb diaphragms ('good' ones, not too 'rigid') have no splits, there's oil in the dashpots and the float setting on both (cleaned) carbs is correct. All the fuel pipes are new. When accelerating after slowing down from a junction or roundabout, sometimes the engine just ticks over for up to about five seconds with my foot right down. There's no stumbling or 'spluttering' and it only appears to do it when warm. I'm thinking it's common to both carbs. I removed an inline fuel filter between the pump and carbs thinking this may have caused some fuel starvation but has had no effect. The mechanical fuel pump is a Moprod one I think and is only a couple of years old. If it was a fuel starvation problem I would have thought it wouldn't tick over so smoothly when I'm waiting for it to pick up. I'm thinking it may have something to do with vacuum but I'm not knowledgeable on the subject. Approaching busy roundabouts and junctions has become a very hairy experience. Thanks a lot.
