Default new poly bushes fitted

Had some bits to tidy up this afternoon ( lost this morning as i had to take the mrs to B&Q lol ) and get ready but i decided to strip and fit new poly bushes while i was at the right stage made sense todo it , so it was all renewed for extra long life ahead of itself im glad i did as it was in need of a good clean under the old rubber bushes due to festering rust so gave it a good clean up and some new paint when that was dry i slipped the new poly bushes in and it made a big difference to me .
just needs a touch up of paint to bring it up to the right finish due to the spanner rubbing off the paint on the nuts each end holding them in place.

i had sourced the poly bushes earlier in the year from classicswede a very good standard of bush i must say felt nice fitting them so i highly recommend them if anyone is thinking of going down that road of poly bushes .

Hi. I've never seen a steering box painted-up (aluminum, right?) - how did you go about that?

hi ya james

I cleaned all the oil off it and then keyed it up with fine sandpaper then cleaned with white spirit so it was ready then to apply the three coats of paint the first coat is thin to key onto it then second coat to gain more coverage ,
i then added the third top coat of paint to finish the job off allowed to dry well and it is as pictured ....

Default Back on All Four Wheels

hi folks

well some of you may know i have been taking it easy past month due to me hurting my knee it was a big ouch and all over a silly rush but there we go easy done hey.
so progress has been on hold but i have had a few afternoons at the workshop so thought i best share some pics im getting ready to pop the engine in but i wanted to get the hubs finished off and get her back on all four wheels .

also i wanted to get the windows all done ( some seals needed ) i nipped round to see simon on friday to see a sign shut for the day 20th sept i was like omg hes having a well earned rest from us all lol , so swung around the car park and headed off for the workshop will pick them up on tuesday as i am never going in on a monday again hes rushes around to much .

so i got all the windows cleaned with extra care and attention on the rear ( came up nice indeed ) and done what i could till i get the main window seal guides ,fitted the last two trims under rear side windows as new retaining clips was required so after installing them i popped on the chrome trims then fitted the door handles with a nice dolop of grease to keep them lubed up for many years to come
And fitted the other rear light as i had a duff one so needed to find a good one to fit in its place its such a mission to locate parts when you so many all over the place you find your self saying i have loads of them Some Where hehe...

hi paul

To be honest im not sure and i would love to find out as they fit a treat and look just like the GT wide wheels with a real nice beauty ring fitted i will take some close up shots 2morrow when im at the workshop if any member can help find the source of the wheels will help heaps to gain a full set due to me only having two would like another two - three ( to make a full set ).
they must be the same pcd as we all use so old ford fittment no great clear marking on the wheels to shed any light but there is some numbers so could be a help in finding more info on them .

all being well i should get the engine fitted this week and the interior goes off to the upholster Yippee

regards
robert
