The trend to bigger wheels and lower profile tyres might be great on the race track.
But in real life the chaces of scuffing the rims on curbs is much higher and ability to absorb bumps much lower on bigger rims. If you drive in a curb free area with smooth roads you wont notice a difference. But I use both 17 Winter wheels and 20 Summer wheels and it is night and day between them. 17 wins for comfort. 20 wins for handling. You cannot have both.

I guess you should make a balanced choice. 18" for example. Don't sacrifice comfort. It's a Volvo. Not a racing brand like Ferrari. Why you need 20"? Handling? Again...it's a Volvo. Think about it.

well, comparing to other cars I have driven, ride quality on 20" in S90 is kind of balance between the look and the comfort

Had the wheels not already have been on the car when I bought it there is no way I would have ticked that option box to switch 18" for 20". I have been a firm advocate for maintaining some sidewall in a wheel for both comfort and tyre cost. So I was apprehensive hence starting the thread.
So I have been pleasantly surprised at the ride. And blown away by the looks - its a beautiful car anyway, but on the big wheels it looks stunning.
