I have 20” rims on a S90 Inscription. I have absolutely no issues with the ride. It is much more forgiving than my previous Audi with 17” rims on Sport suspension.
My only issue is the lack of sidewall buffer to prevent kerbing. The diamond cut alloys appear to very ‘soft’ and easy to damage

Glad to hear about the ride quality! As I have just bought the car...

If you want comfort, then the only option is Four-C
Don’t forget Electronic Rear Self-Levelling suspension.
But - having just checked latest price lists, these options are for V90 only - Four-C & S-L are not available on S90 at all - the only option is the Lowered Sports Chassis on R-Design trim - but the OP is looking at Inscription, which has standard Dynamic chassis only - whatever that means!
Which makes his question about wheel sizes all the more pertinent to comfort.

I have 17 reg S90 Inscription and it comes with ERSL suspension. It works a treat especially over harsh surfaces.

I have 20 or 21 on my S90 r-design pro and I live in an area full of humps. I take all of them about 5-10mph - no point risking it and it doesn’t feel comfortable hitting them any faster.

They must have changed it since, then.
Neither the price list nor the configurator currently show S-L or Four-C for any S90 - not that I can see anyway!

The option was removed for the 2019 model.

It's pretty near tech, shame it's not all-round.

Collected my car today. It's a 4 month old S90 Inscription, a pre-reg on delivery mileage with a handy 35% discount from new. Winter, seat, xenium, park assist, privacy glass, 20s and Bowers & Wilkins.

Anyway, ride on 20" wheels is FINE. I can definitely feel imperfections in the road through them, but not in an uncomfortable way, and I prefer to be able to feel trip through my bum than not...

I've done nearly 3,000 miles in the car this month, so for the sake of completing my own post and to provide information for anyone reading it in the future asking the same questions, here's my thoughts.

Ride is generally good on 20s. I prefer a slightly firmer set-up with feel though my bum of what's going on below the wheels and for me the balance is pretty good. The ride is comfortable and cossetting without being saggy. It seems to cope with broken up surfaces very well and i havent noticrd any incidences of tramlining.

The only times the ride feels badly unsettled is curved joins on motorway bridges, where there is a definite diagonal shimmy. But that's it. Noise levels are fine, ride is fine, and the 20" rims look spectacular
