Default WANTED: volvo 340 or 360 1.7

Hi everyone, I'm brand new to the forum however I'm not new to owning volvos, Infact I'm 19 and have to 480's! Now I'm on the hunt for a solid 340 or 360 in 1.7 form, wither carbed or injection, think I'd prefer carbed though. Car must be MOT'd for a decent time or at least has some MOT and is ready to sail through another with only minor things, looking for something in as good nic as possible, willing to travel the length of the country for the right car as I'm in North East Scotland, I'd say I'll have around £1200 max to play with, but show me what you've got! Really looking forward to this next project of mine, loads of retro ideas :P thanks! Fraser.

When I got this car it was almost white it was so oxidised. I done a full colour sand with wet and dry. Buffed it up using auto glym paint restorer before polishing it with mer. Although it still looks good, it has faded a bit as it was done four years ago. It took me days to do it but it was worth it in the end.

I have one that colour , i find the paint quite soft and thin on the sharp edges like on top of the door frames , it rubs through with a small rub of T cut on the edges .when chipped it shows a light colour primer , almost lemon colour .
I'm convinced it is original though . The 1979 343 paint is completely different , It is hard and thick and has stood a T-Cut most years since 1981 with no ill effect .

I think I was fairly lucky on this car as it probably hadn't ever been polished. The paint is all completely original and I only found one very small bit of the yellow primer. It'll probably never be seen unless it's pointed out. Even with that it's still good to have a car this age with original paint and very few marks on it. Its a shame I've never really taken to it as its such a nice wee car. It still has the 5 original Pirelli tyres with it as well. Spare has never been used. Although safety wise I wouldn't like to use them.
