To play safe, I would remove a wheel and measure the diameter of your discs. Sometime around June-August Volvo started using different discs on the front, 281mm instead of 256

If you have the earlier ones, you can easily and cheaply upgrade to the new bigger ones by installing the newer callipers

You don`t have to buy...... just say i`ll be back!

Easy to change the calipers but not on the wallet. lol
pcd was different between these two anyhow. They probably used the bigger discs after 2000 as that's where most of the changed seem to happen.

No, the change was in mid 1997. You can get 2 front callipers and carriers for £30 max. However, you might be lucky to have the 281mm ones anyway. I would agree with 960kg too though. You could even call a dealer and ask them

You know when you enter your reg online and it gives you your model etc.
Mine never works. Mainly because I have noticed my log book has incorrect info in it. Somehow a previous owner or garage has fluffed it right up.
I have a different engine code on my car compared to the book. So it will probably affect the dealers too. So will use my VIN which is the same luckily. Otherwise it would be all sorts of dodgy. lol

The hubs are different so they would need swapping to.

I have a neighbour with a P reg v40 2.0 and that has the smaller discs as he was after the ones off the t4 I broke for parts but they were the bigger ones and he didn't want to swap calipers and hubs over.

I have just heard what you say but even if you lost the log book the motor has all it`s ID plates rivetted on with the information, as Volvo made the car they can trace it with there computer system, it should not be a problem.
