Default What HU series CD players are a straight swap?

Got the usual jamming disc in the HU-850 of my 2000 T6, can I plonk a HU-801 in there without any problems? Not bothered in the least about losing the controls on the steering wheel, I just want to be able to play CD's.

If not, is it possible to snip into the wires between the head unit and the amp in order to put a Zune in line? I know you can buy the iMiv things, but I don't have an iPod.

You can't swap units from car to car. They're 'matched' to the car. You can take bits off one to fix the other though.

Hmm? Looks like a single DIN adaptor and some adaptor leads is the only way then. I'm not keen on paying £300+ to get the unit fixed.
