Default XC60 iPad mount

With our first 3hr+ road trip in our XC60 coming this weekend I've been searching for an iPad mount that will sit between the two front seats so all 3 of my kids in the back can be entertained for the duration.

I did like the idea of this style - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00GHLTCX2?psc=1 - until I realised that the headrests/restraints aren't adjustable.

Any suggestions...?

In-car DVD players usually have some sort of attaching system which might be possible to 'hang' between the seats.
Something similar attaching to an iPad case (with slots for straps) might be the answer. I have only seen strap systems attaching to the headrests. I can't think of something else strong enough with a clear front to hang the iPad in between the seats, yet allowing control of the movie/game etc.
What about an iPad mount sitting up from the centre console like a iPhone mount for the windscreen? Would it be tall and strong enough to stay stable at speed?
Hope you find a solution soon.

Call in Mr Heath Robinson: http://www.instructables.com/id/Univ...-car-rear-sea/
I'm sure that would work!

I did look at the device holders where the base is secured in the cup holder but the adjustable neck isn't long enough to reach up and just behind the seat-backs.

The search goes on...

Bear in mind the implications of a poorly fitted solution in the event of an accident (either to the child whose head might go thru the screen, or the tablet device getting thrown around). In my days, a game of I-Spy was enough to keep me out of mischief on a car journey

Same here, Simon. However, questionable family-planning means a more enthralling and entertaining distraction is needed to stop the 15 and 13 year olds throttling the 6 year old...

Leave very early in the morning. The teenagers will still be groggy until at least 10-10.30 or so.

We use a dangly down thing that loops over the headrest, bit like a pouch with a clear plastic bit where the screen is.

Works fine for the grandchild. Content gets more tedious with time though, getting to the point that I'd rather hear screaming than more teletubbies.

Forgive me for putting a dampener on the idea but wouldn't the back of the seats be just a bit to much of a stretch for a child in a seatbelt, or are they a bit closer these days with car seats and tall parents. Good for watching movies but not for playing games?

Don't like that thing between the seats at all!

I've got a 'triangular' folding stand/case for my iPad I'm typing on right now and even allowing for the bumps would probably be fine on my knee.., although again, in a collision these things could go flying! It might slot into the seat pockets on the back of the front seats though..
