An update. Has anyone tried or got any comments re this on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-FEBI-B.../391325222971??
£12.76 delivered from the UK. It's sold for the 240. But the 1992 2.0 SE Estate is not listed. FRF Volvo say that part number 1304783 is for the 240 for 1975 to 1978. Was that washer pump different from later 240s? Very different? Was battery polarity different perhaps? But the part number was also listed for one specific 1984 740. It is pin connections in the picture. And a USA supplier describes this 1304783 part as the later type of pump, pins not flat blades. Any info or ideas anyone please? I have asked the seller, and for the price I reckon well, it's a pump that looks right or if only close to right it might if necessary be slightly fettled so as to fit the car. EDIT: This edit cancelled....I wasn't paying proper attention. NEW EDIT: I have ordered a pump for £12.76 as above http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-FEBI-B.../391325222971? and I will find out how good a fit it is. Or not. . My "BILSTEIN OE QUALITY - WINDSCREEN WASHER PUMP - 14877" from the link I posted before http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-FEBI-B...72.m2749.l2649 also arrived today and I have fitted it. It is a good fit direct replacement for the Volvo pump. Actually it's a snug fit. So I applied Vaseline to the pump mounting plate, the connector pins and the connector block. That helped it fit very easily. And Vaseline is a good idea for the assembly anyway.
braindamage: I think you have probably bought the same item. And your seller Charlton Volvo Centre is particularly selling Volvo items. I bought my headlamp reflector kits from them. They were very helpful. And very good value because their kits included all fittings, including the white connectors that otherwise give bovver. New tubing is a good idea. My tubing seems OK and with additive used all year I hope it is clean inside. But better safe than sorry, well done you. Not brain damaged at all. Or is Brain Damage the name of an ale? Like the famous Skull Attack? . |
