What Bulbs? S40 2005 2.0D
Looking to get some brighter bulbs for my car, but not sure what bulbs I need as some sites ask if they are twin bulbs or single?
Anyone bulbs anyone recommends? I prefer a cleaner light so anything that is road legal but bright would be brilliant please. I have attached a picture of my lights. Thanks everyone

headlights / bulbs etc have been covered loads in this forum, have a search through.
Think you are after the H7 and look for a night breaker I think is what other have used. personally I would just go to a xenon hid kit at 4 - 5k, I have had one on mine for 2 years now and never been a problem and passed all MOT's, don't get flashed at either, just make sure your lights are good and clear and angled correctly.

Osram Nightbreaker Laser Plus
Osram Cool Blue Hyper Phillips Silver Vision A decent 55w HID system with H7R bulbs but beware the risks associated. I used a system like this on my S40 but I am sticking with Nightbreaker Lasers in the 50 because they are good enough even though they dont last very long. It helps that mine has auto lights not the on all the time system used on the older cars like my S40.

Dont forget you can remove the inner projectors VERY easily and clean the foggy projector lenses.
This mades a significant diffierence to the brightness of the headlamp if yours a very cloudy. |

I wasted loads of money on different bulbs from nightbreakers, Philips xtreme etc. The best thing i did was put a 5000k hid kit in, i got some pics up on a previous thread how to wire to avoid any probs.

If you want to stay legal Philips Racing Vision +150% are the best I've used so far. Had them in in June and can actually drive down unlit country lanes with them. Not expecting them to last long but they have survived 4 months so far.
